The Strategic Commercial Analysis team supports the business through the provision of analysis that facilitates informed commercial decisions in areas including price leverage, product rationalisation and development. The team’s main focus is on the development of financial and commercial performance analytics.

 

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

Deliver and enhance commercial analysis across the group to facilitate strategic decision making and drive business performance. Compile and process invoice and opportunity data for the provision of group Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting. Analyse outputs and trends through investigations of business systems and partnering with local finance contacts. 


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Extracting data across 22 countries from business systems including Salesforce, Tableau, SUN and OneStream. 
  • Utilising existing and developing new Alteryx processes to cleanse and prepare the data for country specific reporting on KPIs such Annual Contract Value (ACV), Yield, New Business, Renewals, Sales Performance and more.
  • Maintaining high data quality by creating and implementing test procedures for KPI reporting and updating fields in the Salesforce database.
  • Resolving issues regarding market segment, product, and customer mappings to ensure accurate and consistent reporting that reflects the commercial reality of the business.
  • Scrutinising the KPI Tableau dashboard to check for inconsistencies, by investigating Salesforce opportunity and invoice data and working with local financial contacts.
  • Reconciling the ACV versus Net Revenue in OneStream
  • Identifying commercial and non-commercial trends from the KPI reports such as the relative success of price leverage initiatives or product migrations. 
  • Taking ownership of specific areas of monthly and weekly reporting. Working with colleagues to ensure deadlines are met and workloads are equally distributed. 
  • Effectively delivering ad hoc requests and expanding the commercial analysis reporting suite by working with the Head of Commercial Analysis.
  • Actively engage in improving processes, data quality, consistency, and coverage.
  • Assisting in ongoing projects to introduce new data fields (e.g. licence volume, usage and industry sector), new analysis tools (e.g. a group reporting database) and new revenue streams (e.g. one off and transaction revenue). 
     

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Fluent in English (other European languages desirable).
  • A self-starter motivated to succeed, learn and progress with an inquiring mindset. 
  • Passion for data analytics and the delivery of data-driven actionable insights.  
  • Numerate degree and/or experience with handling complex datasets.
  • Confident Excel Skills, including familiarity with SUMIFS, VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
  • Experience with Power Query/Alteryx/Tableau desirable (not required). 
  • Attention to detail and strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage individual workload to achieve deadlines.
